Pasadena Superior Court Judge Lisa Lench sentenced convicted gunman Armen Mangasaryan and co-defendant Arpiar Terrgalstanyan, 21, the getaway driver. Terrgalstanyan was sentenced to 16 months plus 16 years to life in state prison.
Jurors convicted both men on Aug. 19. Mangasaryan was convicted of the first-degree murder of Jasmine Voskanian. His co-defendant was convicted of second-degree murder.
About six weeks before the trial, Terrgalstanyan pleaded no contest to two counts of possessing assault weapons.
A third defendant, Bella Stepanyan, 27, pleaded no contest to one count of accessory after the fact on Jan. 22. She was sentenced to 360 days in county jail and three years of formal probation.
Voskanian was shot in the face and killed on Feb. 25, 2009, when, just after midnight, she opened the door for Mangasaryan, whom she knew. Evidence presented during the trial revealed that the victim owed money to Stepanyan.
Deputy District Attorney Russell Moore of the Pasadena Branch Office prosecuted the case.
