Sheriff's Homicide Bureau detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man, which occurred on the 20400 block of South Catalina Street, Unincorporated Torrance early Sunday morning.
Sheriff Homicide Detectives have learned that while the victim was attending a party in the area, he was approached by the suspect in an alley way leading to the party. The suspect produced a handgun and fired multiple rounds at the victim striking him in the upper torso. The victim was transported by friends to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The initial investigation indicates that this murder does not appear to be gang related.
