LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles City Councilmember Paul Krekorian on Thursday announced that the community will join together to assist the Good Samaritans who risked – and in two cases lost – their lives helping a car crash victim last week.
“No one who puts themselves in harms way should have to struggle to pay the bills that accrue as a result of their altruism,” Councilmember Krekorian said. “This community is tremendously appreciative of the efforts and sacrifices of these Angelenos who came to the assistance of a stranger, and I’m proud to join with them in showing our support with financial assistance.”
At a news conference with the families of the victims, local business owners, police and fire personnel and neighborhood leaders, Councilmember Krekorian announced that Valley Interfaith Council, a 501[c]3 nonprofit organization based in the San Fernando Valley, will lead the fundraising efforts. Information on how to donate is available at cd2.lacity.org or below.
